The Charmed Life

Each life is charmed (Seven said), yours and everyone else’s, and you must never forget it.  The instant you’re born, you’re charmed, because life itself is a charm.  Each being is charmed into existence in whatever reality it finds itself, and given everything it needs to operate in the environment.  Your body is charmed, too: It’s a magic part of everything else; springing up from all the things you see about you.  Atoms and molecules go singing through the miraculous air, forming themselves into rocks and trees and dogs and cats and people, too.  You are magic.  You charm the air so that it thickens into your body wherever you are.

When you want to move, you think the air ahead of you into becoming your body, and the air behind you then stops being your body … all very magical indeed.  You move your arm just one inch to the right, and the air to the left one inch stops being part of your arm.  But it all happens so quickly, your snatching of the air and making it turn into your body, that you never notice it at all, and take it quite for granted.  Which is why it works so well, you see.

But your life is charmed.  And there is a secret, a very simple one.  Really, it’s not a secret.  But you have to remember that your life is charmed.  People who forget can’t use their magic nearly as well as they did before, and they have a tendency to get angry at those who can.  So, often, they pretend that no magic exists at all.  Then they evolve great philosophies to prove it, which is itself magical, of course.  But they can’t see that, because they’re so convinced that magic doesn’t exist.

And many people forget how simple and natural magic is, so they evolve long theories, and methods that are supposed to make it work, when you and I know, and everyone else really knows, that magic itself happens by itself, because that’s what magic is.

But people are also very creative … magic again! … so they make up gods of this and that, and realms and spheres, and maps to chart out in advance where magic might be taking them so they don’t get surprised, which is silly because magic goes where it wants to, which is everywhere.  And when you try to map it out in advance, you really cut yourself short.

Because a characteristic of magic is that it automatically turns into whatever you want it to be.  You create your own reality with it, so whatever maps you make are real.  And if you forget what magic is, then you’re liable to think that your map is the only real one, and all others are false.  You get in a terrible bind, fighting over which way is right, which road or map, while all the time magic is what makes the maps.  And a great variety of maps can appear in the twinkling of an eye!

Particularly when you grow up, many people will tell you that there is no magic.  If you believe them, then you’ll forget too, and you’ll act as if you aren’t charmed and bring unmagic into your life … which is magic too, you see, but magic that doesn’t know itself.  Then you’ll create things that go with unmagic, like sorrow or sickness, and you’ll have to deal with them at that level until you remember that your life is charmed again.

So in the meantime you’ll feel nasty and unloved and angry, way beyond what is natural, and have to worry about sad or fearful emotions and what to do with them, when magically, you’d know:  They’d just come and go exuberantly like summer storms.  But anger and hate and sorrow are all magic too, and left alone, they’d lead you back to the knowledge that your life is charmed.  Because hate is love looking for itself every place but where love is; and love is what you feel for yourself when you know that you are where you’re supposed to be in the universe, and that you’re lovely just because you are, and, of course, charmed.

Not only that, but you’re also the magic maker; the inner living part of you that forms your life.  But consciously you have to know this, accept and acknowledge it, and let the magic of yourself happen.  That way, you’re directing the magic of yourself.

But it’s even more fun just to let the magic happen as it wants to, because it’s your magic, and that way it keeps telling you more and more about your magical self.  Then the magic flows through you with unimpeded delight.  If you keep saying, “I want it this way and no other”, then you may be limiting your physical experience, because there’s no doubt that your inner magical self knows more about your potentials than you do.  And it will tell you quite clearly, if you only listen.

To many adults, all of this sounds too simple and unintellectual, because unfortunately many of them think that the mind is just something to say “no” with, and to keep out magic.  Nothing could be further from the truth.

But if you use your mind to say no to magic, then it’s like closing doors to your own charmed existence, and refusing to use the full power of your life.

Everyone works with magic, whether they realize it or not.  Beliefs are magic, too, you see.  Many people think that one particular belief makes everything right; or makes magic happen.  And as long as they believe that, they’re all right for a while.  But if they start doubting that belief, and don’t find another one to replace it, then they think that they’ve lost their Magic, or that life has.  Instead, of course, the magic is there all along.

But people love systems, so they use all kinds of beliefs … some of them quite handy … as aids.  And they travel through belief systems, sometimes going to considerable trouble to do so, when all they really have to remember is that they are magic themselves, and their lives are charmed without their having to do anything about it at all.

And your conscious mind is magic, too.  Its workings are mysterious and complicated, and simple and clear at once, like air is.  Your conscious mind looks out through your eyes, and knows parcels of air as its body, and smiles through cheeks and skin the same way that the moon shines through the wide skin of the heavens.  See how clear and mysterious it all is?  So, in a way, it’s silly for the conscious mind to question magic, because – well, it’s so magical itself.

But systems of magic are silly, too, and all of them are really based upon doubt.  Magic is considered so tenuous that someone has to be at it all the time, making spells or paying someone else to do it.  And the spells all have to be done just right, so people concentrate on how to do this spell or another.  This gets very complicated, and many adult books deal with the subject.

But everything is a spell.  Your words and thoughts are spells.  Science is just another system that tries to discover what certain spells cause certain effects.  Usually, of course, scientists don’t understand magic any more than priests do; and they all get caught up in their own complicated methods.

There isn’t much basic difference between muttering a lot of different phrases or drawing magic circles to protect yourself against illness, and taking handfuls of pills given to you by doctors.  Both methods work if you believe in them, though the practitioners of one method will never agree that the other way works at all, of course.  And unfortunately, neither side really understands magic, which is behind all of the spells and methods and formulas.

Spells work if you believe in them; only you don’t need spells at all.  Everything happens by itself.  You happen by yourself, so does the world.  And the principle behind it all is magic.  And magic is the Beingness within and behind all things.

The Body and Creaturehood

Within your creaturehood, you have all kinds of freedom.  And all of the freedom you can ever enjoy in your lifetime must come through your creaturehood.  Some people spend a good deal of time trying to pretend that they only have minds, or that minds alone are important.  Some people even try to ignore their bodies almost entirely in an effort to be more spiritual, or to be “better” people, which is like a bird trying to fly better than any other bird alive … all the time refusing to use its wings, or pretending that they weren’t there.  He’d never get off the ground.  A bird would never think of such foolishness, of course, and often other creatures are smarter than people.

In fact, whenever you’re in trouble, it’s a good idea to watch the animals, for they bask in their freedom and don’t worry about their limitations.  A cat or dog can teach you a lot.  A cat really enjoys its catness, just as you should enjoy your creaturehood.  Even a fly buzzing around the ceiling loves its own reality and is free in it.  If it stopped to wonder whether or not it could really fly – well, it would fall down in a minute or never go fast enough to outwit your mother’s flyswatter.

So, trying to be religious or “good” or “better” by ignoring your body doesn’t make much sense either.

Actually, each person has a private kingdom for his or her very own, because your body is the one part of earth that is really yours, that no one can take away during your lifetime.  It’s the part of earth, moving and alive, that belongs to you and nobody else.  In a way, it’s your portion of the planet, sprung up in a living, moving statue of earth-stuff, for you and no one else.  So how you treat your body is important.

You just don’t live in it, either.  You live through it; there’s a difference.  You flow through it, moving in all of its parts.  The body is your own magic country.  Your conscious mind is like a monarch.  Now, a good king or queen is loving and gives the people freedom to move about the country.  In this case, your own feelings and thoughts and desires are like the people in your kingdom.  So you should treat your own feelings graciously, and you and your kingdom will flourish.  Some monarchs are dictators, setting up all kinds of impossible laws and taboos, because they’re really afraid of the people who make up their own kingdom.

If you’re a good king or queen, you’ll realize that your kingdom is a good one, and you won’t be afraid of your own people … your thoughts and feelings and desires … but will encourage them.  And you and your body will have all the freedom necessary to flourish and grow.

The Power and a Special Sumari Song

Now, here’s a Sumari song, to help you remember that your existence is a charmed one.  A Sumari song is one that speaks to your ordinary self and to your magical self at once.  It’s a charmed song, of course.  But it isn’t a spell or a sign or even a symbol, because all those things can be very tricky indeed.  For example, if you believe that your magic comes from a medal or a cross or a necklace, and you lose your luckpiece, then you’re in trouble, and you think that your magic is gone.  Then you can spend a lifetime trying to find it.

And if you think that spells make magic, then you aren’t secure either, because you might forget the words to the spell, since no one is infallible.  Besides, people who believe in spells guard them very jealously, and often think that they alone have “the power”, and if you want to learn their methods, then you must endure trials to prove your courage.  And, of course, you must promise to follow the rules, and prove that you are worthy of “the power”.  Again, all of this is very silly because flowers and birds and frogs have the power too, and without having to prove themselves to anyone, or pass any tests.

So the Sumari song is just a reminder.  It’s been translated from an inner language into one that you can understand, but the magic is still in it.  It will jog your memory when you’re in danger of forgetting that your life is charmed.  Of course, you might forget the song.  But even then, you’d only lose a valuable reminder – which would be a pity – but you wouldn’t believe that your magic had gone with your memory.  Still, I hope that you’ll always remember that your life is charmed, and that your magic is you; and you don’t have to prove anything to yourself or anyone else to get it!

Sumari Time

There are special moments that are open channels in which a different kind of time energies; an inside-Sumari kind of non-time.  And in that time, everything is miraculous.  One hour of it is worth – well, days of ordinary minutes.  In Sumari time, you can learn something in a twinkling that might otherwise take years, and insights spring up, brilliant as fresh fruit, for the picking.

This Sumari time is the special heart of time, and contains its real meaning.  Again, it’s really a non-time, always new and shiny, and it contains secrets that are secrets only because so few people realize that this glittering time exists, and right in the middle of the regular time that you know.

Now, in earth time, so many minutes add up to so many hours, and when you’re living in that framework alone, then so much time is needed to get things done.  But inspiration is quite different.  It seeks out those special moments when magic leaps from one world to the other with such ease.

And each person has his or her own key to Sumari time.  All you have to do is use it.  You can write or paint or learn things or solve problems or just be supremely happy ten times as well in one hour of Sumari time as you can in ten regular hours.

Of course, Sumari and earth time coincide, which is tricky, I admit.  And earth time springs out of Sumari time, but people divide up usual time so much that they never realize that time is really whole.

So, Sumari time is whole time, since we’re using the term “time” at all.  Later we’ll dispense with it entirely.  But right now the trick is to recognize Sumari time and use it.

If time were a fruit, then Sumari time would be its nectar and essence, and if time were a holiday, then Sumari time would be Christmas.

When most people bump into a corner of Sumari time, they’re delighted, but they don’t know how to find it again, when it’s there all the while.

Stacks and stacks of the wrong kind of hours won’t give you even one minute of good Sumari time, though.  Because in a strange way, a Sumari hour is the other side of an earth hour.  I mean, all of a sudden, for example, 11 o’clock becomes transparent; it is what it is, on top, but it’s something else too, underneath.  And you can peer through – well, time itself.

The Beginning

It’s deceptive to say thus and so “happened in the beginning”, or that “in the beginning was the word”, or whatever, because there was no official Beginning when God suddenly came parading out of nothingness, bearing the ingredients of mountains, oceans, and land, and trailing sky banners proclaiming the opening of the universe, or the creation of life from a sea of gasses.

There are multitudinous beginnings.  “The Beginning” is only the one you came in on, so to speak, which is rather like coming into a dream in the middle and wondering what happened earlier.  In dreams, everything really happens at once, even though there seems to be a beginning and ending … the past and present and future merge … and the universe is like that in a way.  You’re bound to wonder what went on or how long it’s all been going on, not realizing that in a manner of speaking, it just started when you got there.  And in another way, it really isn’t there at all.

If you dream that you’re in a jungle, for instance, no vines or tangled undergrowth climb up the bedpost, and no exotic animals prowl between the window and the door.  Yet the jungle certainly seems real.  Where did it come from, or when did it begin?  The universe is like the dream jungle.  It exists quite properly, yet in the most profound way it makes no sense to ask when it began.  It begins each day, each moment, at each point of your contact with it.  The gods exist in the same manner, like a giant species of consciousness, striding psychological paths of vast proportions that never really physically appear in the world at all.

The gods and the universe really begin everyplace and everywhere at once, at every point.  Our psychological reality rises from an inner inconceivable divine mind that’s invisible to us, since we are It, earthized, individualized.  We’re the gods in camouflage.

On Methods

The whole thing about techniques is the idea that you need certain methods to make things work for you, when all you have to do is let things alone: Then they “work” for you automatically.  If you forget that fact, then you’ll always be looking for better and better methods … which will never really work … because Nature and your own nature work best when left alone.

If you’re going to study such issues at all, then look for what you do right, and you’ll always find that in those areas you let yourself alone and do what comes naturally, because you are inclined in that direction.

When you concentrate on what’s wrong, you almost always try too hard, look for methods that will work better than the ones you’re using now … when the truth is that the methods themselves stand in the way, whatever they are.  Because Nature doesn’t use methods.  It “works” because it is what it is.

Methods presuppose the opposite, in whatever area of your concern.  They show your belief that nature doesn’t work right on its own.

Greeting Masters, I am Metatron, Lord of Light ! This day we speak of the co creation, of the Harmonic Trigger occurring in Year Two of the New Earth. It is an especially important and timely message. We speak of the Portal of Harmony and of the Cristos. We speak of 2014, of 2038, of 2075. We speak of the NOW.

  

The Portal of Harmony

  

An extraordinary Harmonic Portal is opening in Year Two of the New Paradigm of the Planet

Earth. It is the ' Harmony Portal '. As we have told you, it will initiate on the March Equinox of 2014 and flowers into exquisite full potency on the April Solar Eclipse and follows in peak potency thru the June Solstice. It is an utterly astonishing coded energy that will plant the seeds of World Peace.

  

   It is appropriate is it not, that this will initially be received in the 'Cristos Umbilical', the (expansive) Vortexial Portal of the Temple Mount in Israel. It will then be anchored and relayed to specific major infinity points across the earth and globally envelope the planet. Indeed it is a time to quest, to gather; a unique time to receive and project what is given. This phase offers an opportunity for the seeds of world peace to be anchored & planted in areas of conflict, especially the Middle East....and certain Master Code Carriers are called to be present, called to return....for many of these are ones who walked with the Christ two millennia ago.

  

 It is a sacred path, a soul contract. Others are Earthplane incarnate Sirian-Pleiadean StarSeed, a collective of what may be termed 'Gridwerkers', and are called to both anchor and calibrate vibratory resonance of the new energies of the Sacred Ark below the Temple Mount, and coordinate with other versions of this extraordinary transdimensional device located in other geo-infinity points on the earth.

  

Seconds, Thirds & More...

  

But the 'Harmony Portal' is much more. And what we share here may astound some of you, comfort others and offend the rigid orthodox and naysayer.  It is what Christianity refers to as the second-coming, but as we have shared this immaculate energy has manifested on the earth many times.

  

Jesua ben Josef represented the 'humanity' pattern in completing the full process of mastering duality ...  but he had incarnated many times before. Yet from the stance of your present religious - historical perspective the Judea incarnation is considered as the first. The 'secondcoming' is actually the third from this view. The second occurred with Paul of Tarsus, who received the Cristos energy and is responsible in many ways for the advance of Christianity throughout Europe and the western world. Yet even what was given in integrity was adjusted to the understanding capacity & mentality of the time.  A time in which few were educated.

  

Year Two of the New Paradigm, 2014 is indeed the preparatory phase, the requisite formatting & anchoring of the frequencies for the Return of the Cristos....the hallowed and prophesied return of 'Sacred Truth', embodied.

  

But to be clear, this is NOT the deviation, not the caricaturized mythic figure associated with the fear-based dogma of organized patriarchal religion. For indeed the charlatans & merchants of distortion, corruption and pretense will be again spewed from the Planetary Temple. The new Cristos Avatar will not be born in a manger, but there will be some appropriate & natural correlations to the Judean drama. The Avatar will not proclaim to be a savior, rather a way shower. A teacher of the Truth that man can realize their 'God -Nature' in higher self and learn individual responsibilities of their reality creation.

  

2038   - A Year of Destiny  

  

2038 is a year of destiny, and it will occur. It is beyond probable reality, and you have made it so. It is a year shown in the Great Pyramid and it is now in place and in progress. It will represents the completion of the New Firmament, a further movement into crystalline nonpolarity. The arc swing of duality lessens as the time approaches. 2038 represents the '3rd coming'   

  

 The true Cristos Avatar energy will return after 2038 and be in full service of unconditional love to humanity by 2068 and be mission-completed by 2075.

  

 By this phase in linear time patriarchal and other such organized religions will be in virtual shambles, and the Avatar will not embrace them. No ! Rather will the Cristos undermine their charade and hypocrisy, and advocate the individual relationship of humanity directly to individual higher self as primary God-source. The time of condemnation myths and fairy tales has passed.

God self will be taught. The new Cristos Gestalt will represent the absence of what you term as 'evil', and the truth of co creation. The truth that you create your perceived reality through projected belief.

  

Only Now in the New Earth

  

The 'Portal of Harmony' download & up-shift could not have occurred in pre ascension planetary resonance. The potent coded portal comes not by chance at this vector and time, for it is calibrated now to the expansive dimensional fields of the New Earth.

  

 In the dawning of the 2014 Aquarian vibratory field, in the 'Portal of Harmony' the codes will be received & anchored and the stage set. It is the download of an exquisite coded energy of coherent light, which is up-shifted to influence and pattern the currently transitioning paradigm. It is an offering and template enabling a higher knowledge to a humanity of more advanced frontal brain intellect.

  

Accordingly the misconstrued concept of original sin,  unworthiness, and the  myth of a vengeful angry God with  fears of devils and hell fire that were programmed in so many of you can  be diminished. The dogmatic distortions of control thru fear  that were taught by governing political bodies (in the guise of religion) for several millennia can no longer serve.

  

Fear is the great destroyer. Fear was indeed interspersed with half-truths in mimicry.  Tainted truths are not truth. Dwelling in fear, you will attract it to you. It is the Law of Attraction. Believing in evils, you will of course perceive them.   And Masters...in belief & perception you create, you project into manifestation the reality you experience.

  

The Harmonic Trigger

  

In the Harmonic Trigger, all shadow is being removed. Revealed in light, and light is truth. This light will in time absolutely transform your world.  

  

The new energy, the Cristos insert will ingrain the essential truth & knowledge that humankind in mass & individually create reality according to the nature of their belief. Period !  Have we not told you that he Earthplane is a purposed illusion? A special ' University ' in which you have chosen to learn responsible creation?

  

Service for the Code Carriers

  

So those of you that have been called to visit and receive within what is termed as 'powernodes, sacred sites & vortexial-portals, are being called to service in the Portal of Harmony in 2014, Year Two of the New Earth. It is the Harmonic Trigger. If you thought 2012 was the end, we would tell you otherwise. 2012 was the beginning...your work is not done! Pick up the gloves! You are beckoned, the clarion calls for those of such mettle and heart to continue.

  

The Mission

  

Those of you called to Israel, will feel the draw, but you must go in fearless clarity & coherent theta resonance.  You are the front bearers of this quest and courage is requisite. Faith is required. You cannot move into theta clarity whilst looking over your shoulder. You cannot anchor the codes in 3d or doubt. Fear will not serve. As such the quest to the Holylands is filtered. It is not exclusion rather an appropriate matching to vector.

  

Some among you will be called to go to other specific sacred sites, infinity points and receive, and anchor the distribution of the Harmonic Trigger across the depths and heights of the globe. And indeed this is of equal importance.

  

The Harmonic Trigger is about humanity rising above the 3rd dimension of duality. It is about ascending to the 12th dimension, and indeed the matrix of the planet expanded to 12 in 2012. Now is your call to duty. It is humanities time to rise above duality in theta coherency and co creates the World of Peace.

  

Masters, we tell you that a powerful sense of well being is essential. We understand that for those of you rigidly fixed in 3d consciousness that forming an unyielding belief in good without a belief in what your religious texts refer to as evil seems illogical.  And rooted in 3d, you would not be impeached for such a conclusion.  

  

 But rising into the 12th dimension requires an understanding that polarity-duality does not reside above 3d. Expansive thinking is needed.  An individual explaining his or her reality can only explain what he or she knows.   

  

The New Earth allows for enhanced theta coherence obtained in pineal exploration. It opens new concepts. It is possible because the magnetic (polarity grid) has diminished, and is replaced by the Crytos (144 Crystalline) Grid of integral field, of nonpolarity. A new world is opening. Humanity can now explore higher states, higher dimensions much more easily....but effort is required.

  

Different Attributes of Higher Dimension

  

Dear Ones, dimensions have differing attributes, varying conceptual boundaries. Just as scuba divers know that physical laws differ in an aqueous field, so does the intra-dimensional traveler need to understand that each dimension has differing attributes.  

  

The conditions and situation in each dimension absolutely vary. Expansion is not only possible, it is required. Again, such differences will challenge the intellect.

  

Imagine a world of nonduality in which only good exists.  It may indeed offend the 3d logical brain that requires concise answers and descriptions that coincide tidily with your accepted beliefs & parameters of mainstream 'science'.  But you must rise above brain to enter higher mind. The savant, the serious student of reality must expand and realize that physical senses sending neurons to frontal 3d brain will tell you things, which are not accurate, not entirely true. In pineal a higher caliber of sensory perception occurs.

  

 You of rigid concept will in fact see exactly what you expect to see in most cases. It is a mental

'Catch-22' that is a wide reaching conundrum ... even affecting the results of many of your 'sophisticated ' scientific experiments. Human physical senses perceive a reality that is a result of expectation & belief.

  

As we have stated, and herein re-emphasize -- Dwelling in fear, you will attract it to you.  Believing in evils, you will perceive them. In belief & perception you create, you project into manifestation the reality you experience.

  

The Path Not Taken

  

It is the dawn of a new paradigm. New roads are opening that beckon travel. It is the path least taken. Your world has not yet tried the experiment as yet which would release you. The New Paradigm will open the way for the return of the Cristos, and it will be a refreshed message.

  

 The original message was stepped down even by the messengers in order for it to be understandable to the somewhat limited intellectual mind set of the time. But the message Christianity as you have known it since the 3rd century AD until today is a distortion of the original message and its precepts. The original concepts were misunderstood, changed...and as such, hardly given the chance

  

 The new message, the expansive understanding that will be given offers new potentials to transform your world. It will be based on co creation. It contains not only the seeds of world peace, but the energy of personal transformation for each individual. Transformation to co creation is in theta field brought into the 12th dimensional paradigm. A valid and vital resonance that can be achieved...a frequency that is nonpolarity ... in which only 'good' exists.

  

And Masters, it is time to receive the codes that allow for this shift.  

  

 For if these concepts are embraced and followed individually and collectively, then by 2038 and forward, the evidence of humanities collective senses, and we refer to physical senses, would find no contradiction. They would fearlessly perceive the world and all existence as positive & good. And thus create it as such!

  

This is the road not yet taken, the experiment that has not been tried, and these are the noble truths that you must learn. For those of you who find a world without fear & evil to be logically absurd, you still perceive in 'old energy ' and are not quite ready. Or perhaps better stated you are stuck in 3d duality.

  

Shadow is being removed by light, and light is truth. This will absolutely transform your world. The new energy, the Cristos insert will ingrain the essential truth & knowledge that humankind in mass & individually create reality according to the nature of belief. There will be an understanding of your true cosmology. Your extra terrestrial heritage and multidimensional nature will become clear. There will be no claims of a Savior required to rescue the righteous.

  

Humanity will learn that abundance is self created by removing the mentality of lack and lingering false belief in pious 'poverty vows' as a means of purity. Religious organizations that require money for penance & tithing for acceptance will fall to the side. Spirit is not short of cash.

  

There are those among you who say that everything happens as it should. Take a look at the world around you and reconsider.

  

If everything happened exactly as it should there would be no need to 'karmically' reincarnate.

  

In the Portal of Harmony, in the umbilical of the Temple Mount, seeds of change are coming. These are codes that allow for Spiritual rebirth on a Global Scale. It is an energy that is synergistic in redesign and symbiotic in redefining fearless relationships on an individual and mass scope. This period will offer in the near term a catalystic opportunity for World Peace to be seeded in areas of conflict, especially the Middle East. It is time to take responsibility and consciously creating the world you desire, in good, in pure goodness.  Dear Ones, 3d will not disappear, and the ability to master 3d is in facing its challenges & rising above it, with feet planted firmly on the ground.  It is not about wearing rose colored glasses, or escapism ...  it is about mastering each level of the curriculum. It is about learning and moving forward. It is time to try a new path. One without fear.

  

Earthplane life is a highly purposed dream that can be composed in harmonic movements called 'lifetimes'. You are the composer and conductor that create your succinct & beautiful symphony.  And in the finished product there will be not only the credentials of growth and accomplishment, but the knowledge from higher stance that the laborious construction of the symphony was as sublimely exquisite as the finale.  And from that higher plane, you will look down and see that there was a reason for everything.

Chapter VII (Location 319)

“It is this ‘ladder’ of consciousness, revealed in a vision to Jacob, which each of us must climb before we can enter that silent secret place of the Most High and find that we are in the very center of every created thing, one with all things visible and invisible, in and of the Omnipresence.  In Jacob’s vision he was shown the ladder reaching from earth to heaven.  He saw the angels of God descending and ascending upon it – God’s ideas descending from Spirit to form and ascending again.  It was the same revelation that came to Jesus when the ‘heavens were opened unto him’ and he saw the wonderful law of expression whereby ideas conceived in the divine Mind come forth into expression and manifest as form.  So perfectly was this law of expression revealed to the Master that at once he saw all form may be transformed, or changed in form, through a change of consciousness in regard to it.  His first temptation was to change for form of stones to that of bread to satisfy personal hunger, but with the revelation of this law of expression came the true understanding that stones as well as all other visible forms have come forth from the Universal Mind Substance, God, and are in themselves true expressions of divine Mind; and all things desired, (not formed) are still in this Universal Mind Substance ready to be created or brought forth to fill every desire.  Thus, the need for bread but showed that the substance with which to create bread or any other needed thing is at hand without limitation and bread can be created from this substance just as well as stones can be created therefrom.  Every good desire man has is God’s desire; therefore, there is an unlimited supply in the Universal God Substance all about us to fill every desire.  All we need do is to learn to use what God has already created for us and this He wills to have us do that we may be free from every limitation and thus be ‘abundantly free’.

“When Jesus said, ‘I am the door’, He meant that the I AM in each soul is the door through which the life, power, and substance of the great I AM, which is God, comes forth into expression through the individual.  This I AM has but one mode of expression and that is through idea, thought, word and act.  This I AM God Being, which is power, substance, intelligence, is given form by consciousness; and for this reason the Master said, ‘According to your faith be it unto you’, and ‘All things are possible to them that believe’.

Now we see that God is within the soul as power, substance, and intelligence – or in spiritual terms, wisdom, love and truth – and is brought out into form or expression through consciousness.  The consciousness which is in the infinite mind of God and in man is determined by the concept or belief that is held in mind.  It is the belief in separation from Spirit that has caused our forms to age and die.  When we see that Spirit is all and that form is constantly being expressed from Spirit, then shall we understand that that which is born of or brought out of Spirit is Spirit.

“The next great truth to be revealed through this consciousness is that each individual, being a concept of the divine Mind, is held in that Mind as a perfect idea.  Not one of us has to conceive himself.  We have been perfectly conceived and are always held in the perfect mind of God as perfect beings.  By having this realization brought to our consciousness, we can contact the divine Mind and so re-conceive what God has already conceive for us.  This is what Jesus called being ‘born again’.  It is the great gift the silence has to offer us; for by contacting the God-Mind we can think with God-Mind and know ourselves as we are in reality rather than as we have thought ourselves to be.  We contact God-Mind through true thought and so bring forth a true expression; whereas, in the past, perhaps through untrue thought, we have brought forth an untrue expression.  But, whether the form be perfect or imperfect, the Being of the form is perfect God – power, substance and intelligence.  It is not the Being of the form that we wish to change but the form that Being has assumed.  This is to be done through the renewing of the mind, or through the change from the imperfect to the perfect concept, from the thought of man to the thought of God.  How important then to find God, to contact Him, to be One with Him and to bring Him forth into expression.  How equally important is the silence or the stilling of the personal mind, that the God-Mind in all its splendor may illumine the consciousness.  When it does, then we shall understand how ‘the sun of righteousness (right-use-ness) shall rise with healing in his wings’. The Mind of God floods consciousness as sunshine floods a darkened room.  The infusion of the Universal Mind into the personal mind is like the entrance of the vastness of the outside air into the impurity of that which has long been held in some close compartment.  It stands alone, supreme, and we realize that we are to build but one temple.  The Temple of the Living God is the blending of the greater with the lesser through which the lesser becomes one with the greater.  The impurity was caused by the separation of the lesser from the greater.  The purity is caused by their union, so that no longer is there a greater and a lesser but just the one good, whole, pure air.  Even so must we know that God is One and all things visible and invisible are One with Him.  It is separation from Him that has caused sin, sickness, poverty, and death.  It is union with Him that causes one to become a whole Being or to become conscious of being whole.

“The separation from unity is the descent of the angels on the ladder of consciousness.  The return to unity is the ascent of the angels upon the ladder.  The descent is good, for unity then becomes expressed in diversity, but in diversity there need be no concept of separation.  That which is diversity has been misconceived from the personal, or external viewpoint, to be separation.  The great work for each soul is to lift the personal viewpoint to such heights in consciousness that it becomes one with the whole.  When all can ‘meet with one accord on one place’, that place in consciousness where it is understood that all things visible and invisible have their origin in the one God, then we stand upon the Mount of Transfiguration.  At first we see Jesus and with Him Moses and Elias; or Law and Prophecy, and the Christ (the power within man to know God); and we think to build three temples, but the deeper meaning comes.  We are given to realize the immortality of man to know that divinity is never lost, that Divine Man is deathless, eternal.  Then Moses – the Law, and Elias – the Prophecy, disappear; and the Christ stands alone supreme and we realize that we have to build but one temple – the Temple of the Living God within our very selves.  Then the Holy Spirit fills the consciousness and the sense delusions of sin, sickness, poverty, and death become no more.  This is the great purpose of silence.

“This temple from which you may chip a piece and the scar will be instantly healed but typifies the temple of our body, of which Jesus spoke, the temple not made by hands, eternal in the heavens, which we are to bring forth here on earth.”

Session 804

The body is a spiritual, psychic, and social statement, biologically spoken. It is obviously private, yet it cannot be concealed, in that "it is where you are," in usual terms.

The individual body is what it is because it exists in the context of others like it. By this I mean that a given present body presupposes a biological past of like creatures. It presupposes contemporaries. If, for example, one adult human being were perceived by an alien from another world, certain facts would be apparent. Even though such an alien came upon a lone member of your species in otherwise uninhabited land, the alien could make certain assumptions from the individual's appearance and behavior.

If the "earthling" spoke, the alien would of course instantly know that you were communicating creatures, and in the vocal sounds recognize patterns that contained purpose and intent. To one extent or another, all creatures use language, implying a far vaster sociobiological relationship than is usually supposed. From [the earthling's] appearance the alien would be able to deduce — if it did not already know — the proportions of the various elements upon your planet; this being surmised from your method of locomotion, appendages, and the nature of your physical vision.

While each individual springs privately into the world at birth, then, each birth also represents quite literally an effort — a triumphant one — on the part of each member of each species, for the delicate balance of life requires for each birth quite precise conditions that no one species can guarantee alone, even to its own kind. The grain must grow. The animals must produce. The plants must do their part. Photosynthesis, in those terms, reigns.

The seasons must retain some stability. The rains must fall, but not too much. The storms must rage, but not too devastatingly. Behind all of this lies a biological and psychic cooperative venture.  All of this could be perceived by our hypothetical alien from one lone human individual; and we will return to our alien later on.

Cells possess "social" characteristics. They have a tendency to unite with others. They naturally communicate. They naturally want to move. In making such statements I am not personifying the cell, for the desire for communication and motion does not belong to man, or even animals, alone. Man's desire to journey into other worlds is in its way as natural as the plant's urge to turn its leaves toward the sun.

Man's physical world, with all of its civilizations and cultural aspects, and even with its technologies and sciences, basically represents the species' innate drive to communicate, to move outward, to create, and to objectify sensed inner realities. The most private life imaginable is a very social affair. The most secluded recluse must still depend upon the biological sociability of not only his own body cells, but of the natural world with all of its creatures. The body, then, no matter how private, is also a public, social, biological statement. A spoken sentence has a certain structure in any language. It presupposes a mouth and a tongue, the kind of physical organization necessary; a mind; a certain kind of world in which sounds have meaning; and a very precise, quite practical knowledge of the nature of sounds, the combination of their patterns, the use of repetition, and a knowledge of the nervous system. Few of my readers possess such conscious knowledge, yet the majority speak quite well.

In one way or another, therefore, it certainly seems that your body possesses a kind of quite pragmatic information, and acts upon it. You can express almost any idea that you want in vocal terms, even if you have hardly any conception at all of the way in which your own speech is executed.

The body is geared then to act. It is pragmatically practical, and above all it wants to explore and to communicate. Communication implies a social nature. The body has within it inherently everything necessary for its own defense. The body itself will tease the child to speak, to crawl and walk, to seek its fellows. Through biological communication the child's cells are made aware of its physical environment, the temperature, air pressure, weather conditions, food supplies — and the body reacts to these conditions, making some adjustments with great rapidity.

At cellular levels the world exists with a kind of social interchange, in which the birth and death of cells are known to all others, and in which the death of a frog and a star gain equal weight. But at your level of activity your thoughts, feelings, and intents, however private, form part of the inner environment of communication. This inner environment is as pertinent and vital to the species' well-being as is the physical one. It represents the psychic, mass bank of potential, even as the planet provides a physical bank of potential. When there is an earthquake in another area of the world, the land mass in your own country is in one way or another affected. When there are psychic earthquakes in other areas of the world, then you are also affected, and usually to the same degree.

In the same way, if one portion of your own body is injured, then other portions feel the effects of the wound. An earthquake can be a disaster in the area where it occurs, even though its existence corrects imbalances, and therefore promotes the life of the planet. Emergency actions are quite rigorous in the immediate area of an earthquake, and aid is sent in from other countries. When an area of the body "erupts," there are also emergency measures taken locally, and aid sent from other portions of the body to afflicted parts.

The physical eruption, while it may appear to be a disaster in the area of the disease, is also, however, a part of the body's defense system, taken to insure the whole balance of the body. Biologically, illness therefore represents the overall body defense system at work.

I am trying to put this simply — but without some illnesses, the body could not endure. Give us a moment. . . First of all, the body must be in a state of constant change, making decisions far too fast for you to follow, adjusting hormonal levels, maintaining balances between all of its systems; not only in relationship to itself — the body — but to an environment that is also in constant change. At biological levels the body often produces its own "preventative medicine," or "inoculations," by seeking out, for example, new or foreign substances in its environment [that are] due to nature, science or technology; it assimilates such properties in small doses, coming down with an "illness" which, left alone, would soon vanish as the body utilized what it could [of it], or socialized "a seeming invader”.

The person might feel indisposed, but in such ways the body assimilates and uses properties that would otherwise be called alien ones. It immunizes itself through such methods. The body, however, exists with the mind to contend with — and the mind produces an inner environment of concepts. The cells that compose the body do not try to make sense of the cultural world. They rely upon your interpretation, therefore, for the existence of threats of a non-biological nature. So they depend upon your assessment.

If that assessment correlates with biological ones, you have a good working relationship with the body. It can react swiftly and clearly. When you sense threat or danger for which the body can find no biological correlation, even as through cellular communication it scans the environment physically, then it must rely upon your assessment and react to danger conditions. The body will, therefore, react to imagined dangers to some degree, as well as to those that are biologically pertinent. Its defense system often becomes overexerted as a result.

The body is, therefore, quite well equipped to deal with its physical stance in the physical world, and its defense systems are unerring in that respect. Your conscious mind, however, directs your temporal perception and interprets that perception, organizing it into mental patterns. The body, again, must depend upon those interpretations. The biological basis of all life is a loving, divine and cooperative one, and presupposes a safe physical stance from which any member of any species feels actively free to seek out its needs and to communicate with others of its kind.

It is fashionable to believe that the animals do not possess imagination, but this is a quite erroneous belief. They anticipate mating, for example, before its time. They all learn through experience, and despite all of your concepts, learning is impossible without imagination at any level.

In your terms, the imagination of the animals is limited. Theirs is not merely confined to the elements of previous experience, however. They can imagine events that have never happened to them. Man's abilities in this respect are far more complicated, for in his imagination he deals with probabilities. In any given period of time, with one physical body, he can anticipate or perform an infinitely vaster number of events — each one remaining probable until he activates it.

The body, responding to his thoughts, feelings, and beliefs, has much more data to deal with, therefore, and must have a clear area in which concise action is possible.

The body's defense system is automatic, and yet .to a certain degree it is a secondary rather than primary system, coming into mobilization as such only when the body is threatened.

The body's main purpose is not only to survive but to maintain a quality of existence at certain levels, and that quality itself promotes health and fulfillment. A definite, biologically pertinent fear alerts the body, and allows it to react completely and naturally. You might be reading a newspaper headline, for example, as you cross a busy street. Long before you are consciously aware of the circumstances, your body might leap out of the path of an approaching car. The body is doing what it is supposed to do. Though consciously you were not afraid, there was a biologically pertinent fear that was acted upon.

If, however, you dwell mentally in a generalized environment of fear, the body is given no clear line of action, allowed no appropriate response. Look at it this way: An animal, not necessarily just a wild one in some native forest, but an ordinary dog or cat, reacts in a certain fashion. It is alert to everything in its environment. A cat does not anticipate danger from a penned dog four blocks away, however, nor bother wondering what would happen if that dog were to escape and find the cat's cozy yard.

Many people, however, do not pay attention to everything in their environments, but through their beliefs concentrate only upon "the ferocious dog four blocks away." That is, they do not respond to what is physically present or perceivable in either space or time, but instead [dwell] upon the threats that may or may not exist, ignoring at the same time other pertinent data that are immediately at hand.

The mind then signals threat — but a threat that is nowhere physically present, so that the body cannot clearly respond. It therefore reacts to a pseudothreatening situation, and is caught between gears, so to speak, with resulting biological confusion. The body's responses must be specific.

The overall sense of health, vitality, and resiliency is a generalized condition of contentment — brought about, however, by multitudinous specific responses. Left alone, the body can defend itself against any disease, but it cannot defend itself appropriately against an exaggerated general fear of disease on the individual's part. It must mirror your own feelings and assessments. Usually, now, your entire medical systems literally generate as much disease as is cured — for you are everywhere hounded by the symptoms of various dis eases, and filled with the fear of disease, overwhelmed by what seems to be the body's propensity toward illness — and nowhere is the body's vitality or natural defense system stressed.

Private disease, then, happens also in a social context. This context is the result of personal and mass beliefs that are intertwined at all cultural levels, and so to that extent serve private and public purposes.

The illnesses generally attributed to all different ages are involved. Those of the elderly, again, fit in with your social and cultural beliefs, the structure of your family life. Old animals have their own dignity, and so should old men and women. Senility is a mental and physical epidemic — a needless one. You "catch" it because when you are young you believe that old people cannot perform. There are no inoculations against beliefs, so when young people with such beliefs grow old they become "victims."

The kinds of diseases change through historical periods. Some become fashionable, others go out of style. All epidemics, however, are mass statements both biologically and psychically. They point to mass beliefs that have brought about certain physical conditions that are abhorrent at all levels. They often go hand-in-hand with war, and represent biological protests.

Whenever the conditions of life are such that its quality is threatened, there will be such a mass statement. The quality of life must be at a certain level so that the individuals of a species — of any and all species — can develop. In your species the spiritual, mental and psychic abilities add a dimension that is biologically pertinent.

There simply must be, for example, a freedom to express ideas, an individual tendency, a worldwide social and political context in which each individual can develop his or her abilities and contribute to the species as a whole. Such a climate depends, however, upon many ideas not universally accepted — and yet the species is so formed that the biological importance of ideas cannot be stressed too strongly.

More and more, the quality of your lives is formed through the subjective realities of your feelings and mental constructions. Again, beliefs that foster despair are biologically destructive. They cause the physical system to shut down. If mass action against appalling social or political conditions is not effective, then other means are taken, and these are often in the guise of epidemics or natural disasters. The blight is wiped out in one way or another.

Such conditions, however, are the results of beliefs, which are mental, and so the most vital work must always be done in that area.

 

Session 805

 

An animal has a sense of its own biological integrity. So does a child. In all forms of life each individual is born into a world already provided for it, with circumstances favorable to its growth and development; a world in which its own existence rests upon the equally valid existence of all other individuals and species, so that each contributes to nature's whole.

In that environment there is a cooperative sociability of a biological nature that is understood by the animals in their way, and taken for granted by the young of your own species. The means are given so that the needs of the individual can be met. The granting of those needs furthers the development of the individual, its species, and by inference all others in the fabric of nature.

Survival, of course, is important, but it is not the prime purpose of a species, in that it is a necessary means by which that species can attain its main goals. Of course [a species] must survive to do so, but it will, however, purposefully avoid survival if the conditions are not practically favorable to maintain the quality of life or existence that is considered basic.

A species that senses a lack of this quality can in one way or another destroy its offspring — not because they could not survive otherwise, but because the quality of that survival would bring about vast suffering, for example, so distorting the nature of life as to almost make a mockery of it. Each species seeks for the development of its abilities and capacities in a framework in which safety is a medium for action. Danger in that context exists under certain conditions clearly known to the animals, clearly defined: The prey is known, for example, as is the hunter. But even the natural prey of another animal does not fear the "hunter" when the hunter animal is full of belly, nor will the hunter then attack.

There are also emotional interactions among the animals that completely escape you, and biological mechanisms, so that animals felled as natural prey by other animals "understand" their part in nature. They do not anticipate death before it happens, however. The fatal act propels the consciousness out from the flesh, so that in those terms it is merciful.

During their lifetimes animals in their natural state enjoy their vigor and accept their worth. They regulate their own births — and their own deaths. The quality of their lives is such that their abilities are challenged. They enjoy contrasts: that between rest and motion, heat and cold, being in direct contact with natural phenomena that everywhere quickens their experience. They will migrate if necessary to seek conditions more auspicious. They are aware of approaching natural disasters, and when possible will leave such areas. They will protect their own, and according to circumstances and conditions they will tend their own wounded. Even in contests between young and old males for control of a group, under natural conditions the loser is seldom killed. Dangers are pinpointed clearly so that bodily reactions are concise.

The animal knows he has the right to exist, and a place in the fabric of nature. This sense of biological integrity supports him.

Man, on the other hand, has more to contend with. He must deal with beliefs and feelings often so ambiguous that no clear line of action seems possible. The body often does not know how to react. If you believe that the body is sinful, for example, you cannot expect to be happy, and health will most likely elude you, for your dark beliefs will blemish the psychological and biological integrity with which you were born.

The species is in a state of transition, one of many. This one began, generally speaking, when the species tried to step apart from nature in order to develop the unique kind of consciousness that is presently your own. That consciousness is not a finished product, however, but one meant to change, [to] evolve and develop." Certain artificial divisions were made along the way that must now be dispensed with.

You must return, wiser creatures, to the nature that spawned you — not only as loving caretakers but as partners with the other species of the earth. You must discover once again the spirituality of your biological heritage. The majority of accepted beliefs — religious, scientific, and cultural — have tended to stress a sense of powerlessness, impotence, and impending doom — a picture in which man and his world is an accidental production with little meaning, isolated yet seemingly ruled by a capricious God. Life is seen as "a valley of tears" — almost as a low-grade infection from which the soul can be cured only by death.

Religious, scientific, medical, and cultural communications stress the existence of danger, minimize the purpose of the species or of any individual member of it, or see mankind as the one erratic, half-insane member of an otherwise orderly realm of nature. Any or all of the above beliefs are held by various systems of thought. All of these, however, strain the individual's biological sense of integrity, reinforce ideas of danger, and shrink the area of psychological safety that is necessary to maintain the quality possible in life. The body's defense systems become confused to varying degrees.

I do not intend to give a treatise upon the biological structures of the body and their interworkings, but only to add such information in that line that is not currently known, and is otherwise important to the ideas I have in mind. I am far more concerned [with] more basic issues. The body's defenses will take care of themselves if they are allowed to, and if the psychological air is cleared of the true "carriers" of disease.

CHAPTER 2

"MASS MEDITATIONS." "HEALTH" PLANS FOR DISEASE. EPIDEMICS OF BELIEFS, AND EFFECTIVE MENTAL "INOCULATIONS" AGAINST DESPAIR

While in this book I will point out some of the unfortunate areas of private and mass experience, I will also provide some suggestions for effective solutions. "You get what you concentrate upon." Your mental images bring about their own fulfillment. These are ancient dictums, but you must understand the ways in which your mass communication systems amplify both the "positive and the negative" issues.

I may for a while stress the ways in which individually, and as a civilization, you have undermined your own feelings of safety; yet I will also give you methods to reinforce those necessary feelings of biological integrity and spiritual comprehension that can vastly increase your spiritual and physical existence.

Your beliefs have generated feelings of unworth. Having artificially separated yourselves from nature, you do not trust it, but often experience it as an adversary. Your religions granted man a soul, while denying any to other species. Your bodies then were relegated to nature and your souls to God, who stood immaculately apart from His creations.

Your scientific beliefs tell you that your entire world happened accidentally. Your religions tell you that man is sinful: The body is not to be trusted; the senses can lead you astray. In this maze of beliefs you have largely lost a sense of your own worth and purpose. A generalized fear and suspicion is generated, and life too often becomes stripped of any heroic qualities. The body cannot react to generalized threats. It is, therefore, put under constant strain in such circumstances, and seeks to specify the danger. It is geared to act in your protection. It builds up strong stresses, therefore, so that on many occasions a specific disease or threat situation is "manufactured" to rid the body of a tension grown too strong to bear.

Many of my readers are familiar with private meditation, when concentration is focused in one particular area. There are many methods and schools of thought here, but a highly suggestive state of mind results, in which spiritual, mental, and physical goals are sought. It is impossible to meditate without a goal, for that intent is itself a purpose. Unfortunately, many of your public health programs, and commercial statements through the various media, provide you with mass meditations of a most deplorable kind. I refer to those in which the specific symptoms of various diseases are given, in which the individual is further told to examine the body with those symptoms in mind. I also refer to those statements that just as unfortunately specify diseases for which the individual may experience no symptoms of an observable kind, but is cautioned that these disastrous physical events may be happening despite his or her feelings of good health. Here the generalized fears fostered by religious, scientific, and cultural beliefs are often given as blueprints of diseases in which a person can find a specific focus — the individual can say: "Of course, I feel listless, or panicky, or unsafe since I have such-and-such a disease."

The breast cancer suggestions associated with self-examinations have caused more cancers than any treatments have cured (most emphatically). They involve intense meditation of the body, and adverse imagery that itself affects the bodily cells. Public health announcements about high blood pressure themselves raise the blood pressure of millions of television viewers (even more emphatically).

Your current ideas of preventative medicine, therefore, generate the very kind of fear that causes disease. They all undermine the individual's sense of bodily security and increase stress, while offering the body a specific, detailed disease plan. But most of all, they operate to increase the individual sense of alienation from the body, and to promote a sense of powerlessness and duality.

Your "medical commercials" are equally disease-promoting. Many, meaning to offer you relief through a product, instead actually promote the condition through suggestion, thereby generating a need for the product itself.

Headache remedies are a case in point here. Nowhere do any medically-oriented commercial or public service announcements mention the body's natural defenses, its integrity, vitality, or strength. Nowhere in your television or radio matter is any emphasis put upon the healthy. Medical statistics deal with the diseased. Studies upon the healthy are not carried out.

More and more foods, drugs, and natural environmental conditions are being added to the list of disease-causing elements. Different reports place dairy products, red meats, coffee, tea, eggs, and fats on the list. Generations before you managed to subsist on many such foods, and they were in fact promoted as additive to health. Indeed, man almost seems to be allergic to his own natural environment, a prey to the weather itself.

It is true that your food contains chemicals it did not in years past. Yet within reason man is biologically capable of assimilating such materials, and using them to his advantage.

When man feels powerless, however, and in a state of generalized fear; he can even turn the most natural earthly ingredients against himself. Your television, and your arts and sciences as well, add up to mass meditations. In your culture, at least, the educated in the literary arts provide you with novels featuring antiheroes, and often portray an individual existence [as being] without meaning, in which no action is sufficient to mitigate the private puzzlement or anguish.

Many — not all — plotless novels or movies are the result of this belief in man's powerlessness. In that context no action is heroic, and man is everywhere the victim of an alien universe. On the other hand your common, unlettered, violent television dramas do indeed provide a service, for they imaginatively specify a generalized fear in a given situation, which is then resolved through drama. Individual action counts. The plots may be stereotyped or the acting horrendous, but in the most conventional terms the "good" man wins.

Such programs do indeed pick up the generalized fears of the nation, but they also represent folk dramas — disdained by the intelligentsia — in which the common man can portray heroic capabilities, act concisely toward a desired end, and triumph.

Those programs often portray your cultural world in exaggerated terms, and most resolution is indeed through violence. Yet your more educated beliefs lead you to an even more pessimistic picture, in which even the violent action of men and women who are driven to the extreme serves no purpose. The individual must feel that his actions count. He is driven to violent action only as a last resort — and illness often is that last resort.

Your television dramas, the cops-and-robbers shows, the spy productions, are simplistic, yet they relieve tension in a way that your public health announcements cannot do. The viewer can say: "Of course I feel panicky, unsafe, and frightened, because I live in such a violent world." The generalized fear can find a reason [for its existence]. But the programs at least provide a resolution dramatically set, while the public health announcements continue to generate unease. Those mass meditations therefore reinforce negative conditions.

In the overall, then, violent shows provide a service, in that they usually promote the sense of a man's or a woman's individual power over a given set of circumstances. At best the public service announcements introduce the doctor as mediator: You are supposed to take your body to a doctor as you take your car to a garage, to have its parts serviced. Your body is seen as a vehicle out of control, that needs constant scrutiny.

The doctor is like a biological mechanic, who knows your body far better than you. Now these medical beliefs are intertwined with your economic and cultural structures, so you cannot lay the blame upon medical men or their profession alone. Your economic well-being is also a part of your personal reality. Many dedicated doctors use medical technology with spiritual understanding, and they are themselves the victims of the beliefs they hold.

If you do not buy headache potions, your uncle or your neighbor may be out of business and not able to support his family, and therefore lack the means to buy your wares. You cannot disconnect one area of life from another. En masse, your private beliefs form your cultural reality. Your society is not a thing in itself apart from you, but the result of the individual beliefs of each person in it. There is no stratum of society that you do not in one way or another affect. Your religions stress sin. Your medical profession stresses disease. Your orderly sciences stress the chaotic and accidental theories of creation. Your psychologies stress men as victims of their backgrounds. Your most advanced thinkers emphasize man's rape of the planet, or focus upon the future disaster that will overtake the world, or see men once again as victims of the stars.

Many of your resurrected occult schools speak of a recommended death of desire, the annihilation of the ego, for the transmutation of physical elements to finer levels. In all such cases the clear spiritual and biological integrity of the individual suffers, and the precious immediacy of your moments is largely lost.

Earth life is seen as murky, a dim translation of greater existence, rather than portrayed as the unique, creative, living experience that it should be. The body becomes disoriented, sabotaged. The clear lines of communication between spirit and body become cluttered. Individually and en masse, diseases and conditions result that are meant to lead you into other realizations.
