Julian Barbour, author of “The End of Time” has developed a radical theory of physics in which time is not initially assumed. In Julian’s own words "A review of some basic facts of classical dynamics shows that time, or precisely duration, is redundant as a fundamental concept. Duration and the behaviour of clocks emerge from a timeless law that governs change.”
In his approach, the universe is not a vast array of assumed space-time points, but rather the universe consists of a vast number of “time capsules” … each “time capsule” is a possible moment of manifestation complete with it’s own consistent set of past events and probable future events. The book is very readable and well worth the “time”. What is beautiful about his approach is that it integrates classical, relativistic and quantum mechanics seamlessly. It also provides a model to make sense of today’s Seth quote.
In addition to channeling Seth, Jane Roberts also wrote her own books. In her book "The Oversoul Seven Trilogy” she provides a fictional illustration of some of the most abstract Seth concepts, including this one from today. Again, it’s a fun read but more importantly it’s a great book to trigger the imagination and to get a feeling of the reality that Seth describes.
“Your conceptions of beginnings and endings make an explanation of such a situation most difficult, for in your terms the beginning of the [universe] is meaningless – that is, in those terms there was no beginning.
“The [universe] is, as I explained, always coming into existence, and each present moment brings its own built-in past along with it. You agree on accepting as fact only a small portion of the large available data that compose any moment individually or globally. You accept only those data that fit in with your ideas of motion in time. As a result, for example, your archeological evidence usually presents a picture quite in keeping with your ideas of history, geological eras, and so forth.”
